BEP Surface Technologies roots go back to 1970 when Bury
Electroplating Company first opened its doors for business
from small premises on Gigg Lane, Bury, Lancashire.

Over the next decade a grinding services company was established, prompting a move to new, larger, premises at our current site on Eton Hill Road, Radcliffe. At this stage the company had begun to process rolls for many different industries including glass, steel, plastics calendering and laminating, film casting and photographic paper.

Now processes such as turning, polishing, grinding, superfinishing, grit/shot blasting and nickel plating followed along with a new laboratory and factory extension to house them.

Textured chromium surfaces with much higher peak counts than could ever be obtained by grit/shot blasting alone were developed for demanding roll applications. Following two years of development work our ground-breaking copper shelled cooling roll technology was introduced in 2003.

With new technology came a new beginning and in 2004 the company was named BEP Surface Technologies Limited. Continued development of our unique skills, precision engineering and surface technologies has expanded our customer base to companies of all sizes located in the UK and overseas.
